Hickory, North Carolina - Heidi Sidelinker, a singer/songwriter from Hickory, N.C. is bringing her unique, laid-back musical styles back to North Carolina along with a new award. She traveled across the country to participate in the New York International Music Festival in Los Angeles this September and won “Best Female Acoustic Performer”. She will be performing at Madison Square Garden in New York for the opening of the next festival.

The New York International Music Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the world today. Heidi, who has captivated audiences with her hauntingly beautiful lyrics & voice and 12-string acoustic guitar, has performed for audiences in venues from North Carolina coffee houses to Kulaks Woodshed in LA. EnterActive Weekly says“…(Sidelinker) plays a unique style of original material that incorporates a tasty blend of folk, blues, pop, light rock with a light sprinkling of country to spice things up a bit.”

Sidelinker continues to soar in popularity since her debut in March 2001. She released her first CD, “Dreamtime,” in March 2001 and her second CD, “poetry, essence, and romance,” in March 2002. She was awarded 1^st Place Local Musician in the Hickory News “Best of Hickory Metro 2002” poll and was runner up this year. She was invited to play at the Los Angeles event September 18-28, as well as the New York, N.Y. festival in November and the Miami, Fla. festival in February 2004. Sidelinker was  among 100 select singers and  bands from around the world that had the chance to show their talents and network with important and influential people from the music industry, film industry, agents, producers, record labels, managers, composers, writers, arrangers, and much more. Festival participants performed in front of large audiences in at some of the world famous venues in Los Angeles; where world’s top artists have performed over the years and have been host to a number of media events and shows.
